The Education Committee follows issues related to public education from pre-K to 12th grade. The State League is drafting an update of our early learning study, and the Seattle League will participate in the study.
We also need members who have an interest in the public schools in Seattle and the Eastside to keep track of issues that arise so that we can recommend action based on our positions.
This fall we will work on the Simple Majority campaign for a constitutional amendment that would allow school levies to be passed by a simple majority, not the 60% required currently.
