The showing of the film The Cats of Mirikitani, followed by discussion, is the fourth in our series of films, books, and exhibits with immigration themes. Please join us for this cogent film about a Japanese immigrant who â€œlosesâ€ his citizenship and finds himself homeless on the streets of New York. Mirikitani expresses himself through his art, selling it on the sidewalk. Through his paintings, one learns his stories; through those stories, one experiences Mirikitani as a fellow human being.
