Ready to start off the year with an engaging discussion about hot policy topics? These discussions will inform where the League focuses its policy efforts for 2017. This forum is free and open to the public.

In addition to the League’s annual discussion of policy topics, the League’s newly formed Social Justice Committee has invited several panelists from diverse community groups to talk about intersectionality — the ways in which oppressive institutions are interconnected and cannot be examined separately from one another. The panel will discuss key policy areas for the League’s consideration and offer suggestions on how our communities can collectively advocate for one other.

Panelists include: Nikkita Oliver, Creative Justice; Dylan Quinn, Wildly Healed; Sandy Restrepo, Colectiva Legal; Jasmin Samy, Council on American-Islamic Relations; Rachael Seevers, Disability Rights Washington; Maria-José Soerens, Puentes. Moderated by Jerry Large, Columnist at The Seattle Times.
